Woodford is the Bennington region's largest town at 30,332 acres. Woodford is also the highest altitude town in Vermont. Over 90% of the town is Federally owned and part of the Green Mountain National Forest. The Long Trail runs through Woodford. The Woodford State Park, a 398-acre park that boasts the highest elevation campground of any Vermont park at 2,400 feet, offers a myriad of recreation opportunities throughout the year from swimming and hiking to cross-country skiing.
