Sales of existing homes in Vermont show improvement across the board according to The Vermont Association of Realtors®. June 30th marks the end of the first half of the year and home sales (Single Family and Condominiums) are up significantly, 16.46% statewide. Residential home sales lead the way up 17.39% with home buyers taking advantage of low interest rates and the most affordable housing in years. Condominiums also posted solid gains with an increase of 12.95% in units sold for the same period. Chittenden County leads the state with a healthy 23% improvement overall in units and nearly 21% in volume (Dollars). In Central Vermont, Washington County is up 4% overall and Lamoille County is up 3% in sales of Residential homes and Condominiums. Rutland County sales are up 10% for the first half of the year and Windham County sales are up 6.3%. Windsor County is also having a great year with unit sales up 19%. The outlook for the second half of 2012 is strong and the fundamentals in Vermont continue to remain sound.
